Jesse and Rae are the last to mate. Poor Jesse is trying to put his life back together after his ex left him and their son. Rae just quit her job and got stuck bringing a lioness and her cub to Jesse’s camp. Their pairing is very painful and they make a good couple.
This was the final installment of the Hells Canyon Shifters. Jesse and Rae must get through their differences in order to be together. Will the bond forge between them be strong enough to keep them together? I highly recommend this book, but you should really read the series from the beginning. Good ending to a strong series. Enjoy
I love bear shifters and I love T. S. Joyce. She brings the shifters to life in a way that makes me almost feel like I am part of the clan. Each of the characters is unique in his/her own way and I enjoy revisiting characters from previous books.
Rae Lynn is a spunky, intelligent, brave woman who falls into the shifter world completly by accident and finds herself handcuffed to Jesse, a black bear shifter. What happens after makes for a wonderful, entertaining story.
This is a great series and I highly recommend this, as well as all of the other books in the series.
I would actually give this book 3 1/2 stars. I enjoyed it, but there could have been more to the story to end this series. To begin, Jesse's type of bear changed from what he was in a previous book. He changed from being fairly submissive to fighting to be second in the clan. This threw off the contnuity of the series. T S Joyce usually keeps things straight better than this. I still like her stories.
The final book in the series. Rae Lynn a human who worked for an adoption agency gets a desperate call for help. Shay a lioness wanted her baby Samuel raised by Breshia who left the pride and joined her mate who was a bear shifter. Rae totally unaware of shifters is surprised by Shay suddenly shifting and attacking. She sees people shifting into bears panicking she tries to run away. Jesse catches her to return her to camp. They had to make sure that their secret doesn't get out. She discovers that life in the mountains hold magic. I loved this series.
TS Joyce has become one of my favorite authors of shifter books, including the Wolf Brides Series, Bear Valley Shifters, and Hells Canyon Shifters. Her books contain suspense, life lessons and passion that comes from mates as they transition from instant attraction to what they mean to each other. This novella focuses on Jesse, the Seven Devils Alpha's best friend.
Jesse, a black bear shifter, is at his post in the ranger station when he gets an urgent call from a woman in a car barreling toward Seven Devils with a baby and his mother, Shay, a lioness shifter barely in control of her animal. Jesse directs her to his location and they arrive just before Shay looses her battle and her animal erupts and lunges for Rae, the unsuspecting human trying to help her. Jesse gets to them in time, but the Alpha's enraged Bear is right on his heels and Jesse finds himself protecting the little human as she tries to protect the baby. In the skirmish, Shay shifts back and escapes in Rae' s car. Ethan is calmed by his mate and changes back from grizzly to man. He then places Rae under Jesse's constant supervision until he can determine if they can trust her with the clan's secrets. And to make sure Rae doesn't run, he handcuffs them together.
I so enjoyed this story so very much.
Jesse, doesn't trust his emotions or his bear. He's not sure what he is feeling is true or not. Can she except his secrets?
Rae, is freaking out with what she's seeing and isn't sure she'll survive. Can he accept her one secret that would crush him?
But one thing for sure, they both feel the call.
It is intense, emotional, adventurous, enthralling, and exciting with just enough romance.
I honestly don't want to give anything away, so I will leave it at that.
I'm going to miss this little group of bears and their stories, it has been a delight reading them all.

I am so sad Ms Joyce says this is the final of this series. There are so many other characters I wanted to have a chance to explore. I know there are other wonderful adventures yet to be seen in Hells Canyon but, Ms Joyce has decided this one is the final. With that said she has given us another heart stopping winner of an addition to the series.
Her final offering is Jesse, the second to the alpha Ethan, and wonderful strong, and beautiful new character in Rea-Lynn. Human by birth but bear at heart she is a force to be sure. I love her compassion and her ability to accept what she has been dealt. Jesse is a big gentle/bear shifter whose attempt to mate was a failure when his long time companion and she/bear left him and his son behind, Jonathan.
As a final installment this one is a wonderful, heart breaking at times, and yet still a sweet heartwarming addition. But I have to say I am sad Hells Canyon Shifter is a finished series, I really wanted more.
